Praise again for Loes Botman and her new board book, Hello Animals How Do You Sleep? Her pastel illustrations are as stunning as ever and the thick cardboard used for this particular publication is incredibly durable, unlike some board books I've seen. With every page showing the reader how different animals sleep, Botman's simple text adds a melodic tone to her already warm and dreamy illustrations.
I've flipped through this book over and over again and every time I notice something new. From the light that seems to shine on the fox's face, to the life-like thick fur on the bear, to the resting hen with its head turned gracefully to the side, I am constantly in awe of Botman's attention to detail and creativity with color.
