New to board book format: Old MacDonald Had a Truck by Steve Goetz & Illustrated by Eda Kaban

I still remember discovering this book when it was first published in hardcover. Our son was two and he was already familiar with the traditional "Old MacDonald Had a Farm" nursery rhyme---but what made this version stand out more than all the other versions I'd seen was the fact that it had construction vehicles.

Our son, like so many young children, had a particular fascination with construction vehicles and when I began reading the book to him, I could sense his interest in the book grow as he sat on my lap, listening and smiling.

As each page adds a new piece to the puzzle behind what Old McDonald is making, new construction vehicles are introduced. Our son's favorite was (and still is!) the excavator page. He particularly liked to say "With a dig dig here and a dig dig there, here a dig there a dig, everywhere a dig dig" along with me.

A book that children will love repeating over and over again; I'm so glad to see it available in board book format and hope that other families will enjoy it as much as N did when he was younger.
