Early Learning at the Museum

Recently published by The British Museum, these two new board books provide a glimpse into the world of historical British objects, sculptures, paintings, and drawings. Similar to the series published by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and other museums, I think board books such as these encourage children to be attentive to details such as color composition and subject mater, in addition to encouraging an overall appreciation for art and history as a whole. While board books shouldn't replace going to museums in person, I think they can foster an awareness of, and interest in, the rich cultural art history which museums strive to share and preserve.

At some point, I'd like to have a post specifically dedicated to my favorite art board books, but for now, British art it is!
