Happy Bug Day: Colors with Andy Warhol

With all of the summer bugs we've been encountering, (in and outside of our house these days) I thought it was time for a post about bugs. I really enjoy books like Some Bugs by Angela DiTerlizzi and Mrs. Peanuckle's Bug Alphabet, and while Happy Bug Day is not a new publication, I'm rereading it and enjoying both the exposure to Warhol's art, as well as the simple text and variety of colors.

To me, Happy Bug Day encourages children to not only be observant of nature, but to draw and paint what they see, in the way that they see it, as Warhol did.

If you have a favorite bug book and would like to share what it is, I'd love to read your comments below!
