As the final weeks of summer seem to be fast approaching, I wanted to post one last summer-themed board book. Summer by Gerda Muller was originally published in 1994 and in its wordless simplicity, celebrates the many aspects of summer that children tend to enjoy. Exploring by a pond, sailing a toy boat, gardening, swimming, building sandcastles, or staying up late, Summer is a book that seems to not only act as a scrapbook of summer experiences, but encourages children to make their own summer memories.
